DIY “I love you” card deck.

I would like to start by congratulating you on surviving Valentine’s Day! Woo! I’m so excited to FINALLY be able to share what I made for my Valentine. I’m sure if any of you have a pinterest account this project is familiar. I saw this on pinterest when I first joined in November and knew instantly that I would be making this for my wonderful boyfriend. So yea, it’s been a long time coming!

What you will need:

  • Deck of cards
  • Single hole punch
  • Binder clips
  • Labels
  • Decor to personalize it!

The first thing I did was come up with 52 reasons why I love my boyfriend. Most crafters blogged and said this was the hardest part for them, but for me the hardest part was narrowing it down to only 52 things! After I picked the best 52, I went ahead and printed them onto labels in Microsoft Word (they have a template that makes it super easy).

Next, I punched the holes into the deck of cards. I punched one hole at each corner on one side on the card vertically so they were consistent throughout the deck.

I then set the cards up how I wanted them. I used the Joker as the “cover.” I just kept them in order by suit and number and left the hearts for last, but it’s totally your preference!

Next I stuck the labels on each card and clipped them together with my binder clips. I found a box of multi-colored binder clips at Hobby Lobby for under $2 which was perfect!

Finally, I decorated the cover. I also stuck a picture of my boyfriend and I on the opposite side of the cover. (Unfortunately forgot to take a picture of that before I gave it to him.)

This project is SO EASY, yet SO MEANINGFUL! I used it for my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day, but with a little tweaking it could be used for anyone for any occasion.
